This small clubhouse and office for a private tennis club in West Falmouth, MA replaced an old house that the club members had been using for many years. We preserved their favorite aspects of the former building, which included a large deck for gathering and the inclusion of the large tree in the siting of the structures. We improved the facilities with a ramp for accessibility, greater indoor/outdoor flow, a large open kitchen and restrooms directly accessible from the exterior. Both buildings are timber framed with eastern white pine, left exposed on the interior. To add to the casual feel, the wood decking is continuous from the outside to the inside, and outdoor furniture that can be easily moved as desired was selected.
