One of the main goals for this renovation in Cataumet, MA was to open up the kitchen as much as possible to the view of the water through the dining and living spaces. The previous layout was divided up and closed off with walls. In addition to removing these walls and reconfiguring the kitchen layout, we made these spaces more cohesive by continuing the cathedral ceiling throughout. A 24’ long lift and slide door allows the living space to easily extend out onto the deck and balances out the large scale of the existing brick fireplace feature.
