The upside down floor plan of this house in Brewster, MA maximizes the views of Cape Cod Bay from the main living space and the primary bedroom suite. We used oversized doors and windows to make sure this house brought the outside in from its perch at the top of the dunes at First Light Beach. The flat roof strikes a modern aesthetic and allows for a roof deck and plenty of area for PV panels, while the cedar shingle siding softens the massing and brings a touch of the traditional.
