The renovation scope for this house in Sandwich, MA included new windows and doors, opening up the kitchen, dining and living spaces to one another and updating finishes and fixtures. In an effort to maximize the limited existing space for the kitchen, we designed one tall wall of closed storage and carried built ins into the adjoining dining space. The island and table were custom built by the cabinet maker to be able to come together as one long table for entertaining a large group; the height of the island is adjustable to meet the height of the table. Reclaimed barn boards were used for the sliding laundry door and fireplace wall.
